A few days after receiving her degree in French Language & Literature from University of Maryland (USA) & University of Nice (France), Ayla moved to London to pursue a full-time career in music.
After working as Studio Manager at various independent recording studios in South London, in 1998 Ayla joined UK House indie record label Higher State as their Label Manager. In 2000, Ayla started as Label Manager at alternative Latin & global electronica label sonic360, and also headed up the promotion of sonic360’s London club night at Cargo, La Leche.
In late 2001 Ayla left sonic360 to pursue a new path in music supervision for TV & Film. She cut her teeth as Music Consultant on Japanorama, a BBC Choice six-part series hosted by Jonathan Ross which featured the best in Japanese music, film, animation and technology. Shortly after finishing Japanorama, Ayla joined Princess Productions and was appointed Music Supervisor on Channel 4 Breakfast show RI:SE, where she managed all music used on the show, including live performances. After RI:SE ended in Christmas 2003, Ayla spent the following months as Music Supervisor on Channel Five’s daily reality show, Back To Reality, arranging 3rd party licensing & sourcing all commercial and production music for broadcast.
Ayla left Princess Productions in February 2004 to become Music Services Manager at the newly established Leap Music Ltd. She was promoted to Director of Music Services in January 2006, joining the company boards of both Leap Music & Leap Masters.
